Evening Court Hours Available for Estate and Family Matters
Passaic County Surrogate Judge Zoila Cassanova, Esq. has announced a comprehensive schedule of evening court sessions for Winter 2026, providing Bloomingdale residents with convenient access to essential legal services after regular business hours.
The Passaic County Surrogate Court will hold night court sessions from January 6 through March 24, 2026, rotating among multiple locations throughout the county. All sessions will run from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and operate by appointment only.
"These evening sessions are designed to accommodate working families who cannot attend court during regular daytime hours," according to the official announcement released in December 2025.
Scheduled Locations and Dates
The court will visit various municipal buildings and libraries on a rotating basis, with sessions scheduled for:
- West Milford Public Library (January 6, February 3, March 3)
- Wayne Municipal Building (January 20, February 17, March 17)
- Hawthorne Municipal Building (January 27, February 24, March 24)
- Totowa Public Library (January 15, February 19, March 19)
- Clifton Libraries alternating between Main and Allwood locations (January 13, February 10, March 10)
- Paterson County Administration Building (February 10, March 10)
Services Available
The Surrogate Court handles critical family and estate matters including probate of wills, estate administration when someone dies without a will, guardianships for minors and incapacitated adults, and adoptions. Bloomingdale residents may need these services when dealing with deceased relatives' estates, seeking legal guardianship, or finalizing adoptions.
